

Performing Artist
Ricky has a BFA in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in acting. They've worked with prestigious and Tony award-winning arts organizations, including South Coast Repertory, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Ford Theatre, and The Second City Hollywood, where they spent over a year in the cast of More Guns! A New Musical Comedy.
They trained extensively with Russian master acting teacher Svetlana Efremova (The Americans, Spinning Out) and vocally with recording artist Terron Brooks (The Temptations). They also worked closely with playwright Prince Gomolvilas and author Scott Heim to produce Mysterious Skin, the stage adaptation of Heim’s acclaimed novel, where they starred as Neil McCormick.

RENT Concert
Coeurage Ensemble's RENT returned to the Los Angeles LGBT Center for two performances (with the original cast) as part of the Center's inaugural season.
Fall 2022
RENT
Regional critics raved about Coeurage Ensemble's RENT, where Ricky starred as Angel. Their portrayal was singled out as "positively luminescent and astoundingly unforced," by Stage and Cinema. "Abilez truly inhabits a drag queen whose giving spirit is the heart and soul of the show."


Fall 2021
A Christmas Carol
Ricky spent three months at Denver Center for the Performing Arts, where they portrayed the role of Peter Cratchit in A Christmas Carol.

Wanna Go Camping?
Wanna Go Camping? was an official Queer film selection at LA ScreamFest, LA Queer Film Festival, Portland Horror Film Festival, New Fest, and Seattle Queer Film Festival. The film was an art installation in Seattle at the Museum of Pop Culture for 6 months. It can be viewed here.
